"Why Do 'Bad Guys' Win?"

July 20, 2008

Some things in life just don’t seem fair.   It doesn’t seem fair that someone should cheat on a test and get an “A,” while those who study hard and do their best get a “C.”   It doesn’t seem fair that someone should be dishonest and cut corners on the job and get the “big promotion” while those who are always conscientious and honest get passed up – or even laid off.    If there is a God in heaven, why does He allow “good” people to struggle so much while “bad” people prosper?   Good question!

1.        It is a reality, sometimes the wicked prosper and the righteous suffer

           Psalm 73:2-16

           Matthew 5:44-45

2.        Here is another reality, Jesus told us that we can expect to have trouble

           if we follow Him

           John 15:20

           John 16:33

  3.       To really understand all of this, we have to change our perspective

            Psalm 73:17-18

            2 Peter 3:8-14
