We don't have enough room on this whole web site to chronicle Dan's full story about how he came to be a pastor, so we'll just give you the short version. Dan felt God was leading him to be a pastor when he was 18 years old. So, when he graduated from high school, he began the process of becoming trained as a pastor.
Dan has the usual schooling one would expect of a pastor: he earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO with a dual major: one in Religious Studies and one in Psychology. Dan earned two Masters degrees from Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, KS: an M.A.R.S. (Master of Arts in Religioius Studies) and an M.Div. (Master of Divinity).
But that is where the usual ends and the unusual begins. He earned a Doctorate degree, but not the normal kind that pastors generally obtain. He earned a J.D. (Juris Doctor), from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, KS. He is a licensed attorney in the state of Colorado, where he practiced law for several years.
Let me tell you, he is one weird Baptist pastor!
The weirdness doesn't stop there either. Dan also has weird hobbies. Dan loves to go backpacking in the mountains of Colorado with his wife and sons. They have covered many miles of wilderness trails carrying their tents and provisions on their backs. Dan and Linda have even led several youth wilderness camps to combine their passion for the high country with their passion for helping people draw closer to the Lord.
Another one of his “hobby passions” is bow hunting. Dan is an avid bow hunter who loves to pursue Kansas’ legendary white tail deer during the fall each year. In addition, he loves to bow hunt elk in Colorado whenever he is able.
Dan also has recently renewed an old hobby: riding motorcycles. He started this hobby when he was 12, and has been riding off and on ever since. His current ride: a 2004 Kawasaki Ninja 500R! Weird bike for an old guy, but he likes it!
Dan may be a weird Baptist pastor, but make no mistake: he loves the Lord and is committed to helping others learn how to grow in their faith in Jesus. If you are interested in learning more about the Lord Jesus, or have some questions about how faith intersects life, feel free to give him a call or zip him an email at
