Dan DeWitt became the senior pastor of the First Baptist of Caney in August of 2002.   Dan and his wife, Linda, have been married since 1980.   They met while they were both students at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO.  They have two sons, Luke and Levi, both of whom are students in the Caney Valley school district.

Dan gave his heart to the Lord when he was relatively young.   His parents were both dedicated Christians who were faithful in sharing their faith with their children (actually, his dad was also his pastor), so Dan learned about the love of God from day one!   While he made a decision to commit his life to the Lord Jesus when he was 6 years old, he would be the first to admit he hasn't always lived out his faith the way he should.   But God was patient with Him and gently guided Dan over the years.  Dan is still learning what it really means to be the kind of follower of Jesus who loves the Lord the way God wants to be loved:  "with all your heart, soul and mind!"
